VIT
Semester Abroad Programme

The Semester Abroad Programme (SAP) was introduced with an aim to encourage students from both the undergraduate and postgraduate streams to pursue their final semester in a university abroad. The Office of International Relations organizes a road-show on SAP and students in their pre-final year of their programmes are invited to participate.

Studying abroad was a great learning experience. Working environment there was enriching and Professors were very encouraging. Our ideas and thoughts were given every importance and there was a freedom to work. Other than work, we made time to tour little of Europe, which has made our visit a memorable one. I thank VIT University on the whole for giving this pleasurable opportunity to go and work abroad.

The SAP experience has been joyous, explorative, enlightening and a fruitful one with reference to my project at Laval University, Quebec, Canada. The work ethics are of great value and attention to detail is mandatory, not losing focus on the larger goal. An opportunity that I can credit only to VIT- An experience to be cherished and remembered forever

Syed Mohammad Munzoor Hasan, M.Tech Biotechnology

The internship in the University of Malaya, Malaysia, was an awesome experience. It not only opened up a new vista to international exposure but also helped me meet and interact with students from other back grounds and develop contacts

Dilipan Prabhakar.S, M.S Software Engineering

I pursued a semester at Kookmin University, Seoul, South Korea, as an exchange student. This was real eye-opener for me. I had an opportunity to meet students from Russia, China, Japan and Vietnam and not only shared on Indian culture but had an exposure to their cultures as well. I was able to attend the Thanksgiving festival of the Koreans- ‘Chuseok’. Places in Korea are of scenic beauty.

I had the opportunity to work with world class researchers at University of Picardie Jules Verne, Amiens, France. This experience truly taught me how e research is actually carried out in a research lab and new insights to pursue my Ph.D in the future. The professors were extremely helpful and it was with their help that many of the budding researchers like me could gain knowledge and confidence in my field of work

Rishabh Gupta, B.Tech. Biomedical Engineering

I did my project work in TU Dresden, Germany. The environment here is very quiet and peaceful. The people here are good and friendly and extremely time conscious. The professors here make you understand in clear terms that “This is your project and you have to do it yourself’. They will surely guide you, give you ideas, but the work has to be done only by you. I would honestly like to confess that this exposure has brought changes in me for the better!

Sushant Bhardwaj, B.Tech. Electronics and Communication

The SAP experience on the whole at TU Dresden, Germany has been very pleasant for me. The traditional German sweets (such as the Schokolade, Stollen) and coffee are delicious. The landscape is awesome and the German people are very friendly and systematic. It has been a time of fun and a great learning experience for me and I will really miss this place

The Semester Abroad Programme in my dream city, Paris at ISEP University, Paris can never be forgotten. Ms. Maria has been a great mentor in encouraging me to take up the project and experiment in all possible levels in the field of De-interlacing and Super Resolution which has been my area of interest. Apart from this, SAP has helped me to adapt to a different environment and also helped to exploit my French language speaking skills

My SAP experience at EÓTVÓS LÓRÁND UNIVERSITY, Budapest, Hungary was just splendid. Here I worked on the DNA Helicases (Bloom’s-BLM) which is involved in many of the fundamental processes inside a cell like the replication, recombination and repair. Life in Budapest is very vibrant. We have an access to the best of everything namely transport, supermarkets, shopping centres, parks, and places of interest. The city is a blend of old and new and is often referred to as one of the Europe’s oldest and most beautiful cities

Debashish Roy, M.Sc. Biotechnology

The SAP has undoubtedly helped me a lot in many ways, right from enhancing my CV to gaining depth knowledge in my core field (Nanotechnology) at Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. Apart from academics, this trip to the Germany being my first international trip-All that I value most are the memories that I cherish. I thank the IR team at VIT and LUH for their support
